A deep, pink watermelon hue, the Stags’ Leap Amparo Rosé regales the nose with a fanfare of lively maraschino cherry, wild strawberry, red currant, and pomegranate notes, elevated by fresh floral scents of rose petal and acacia blossom. Crisp with refreshing acidity, vibrant flavors of blood orange sorbet, Anjou pear, strawberry coulis, and pineapple play on the palate of this full-bodied rosé. Finishing with lingering, silky, red berry notes, this is a crowd-pleasing, food-friendly wine and perfect pairing for summer barbecue platters of grilled salmon, blackened chicken, and seared vegetable salads.
Vintage:
2024
Varietal:
Rose
Blend:
81% Grenache, 10% Carignan, 9% Mourvèdre
Oak treatment:
100% Neutral French Oak for 4 months
After a 24-hour maceration period to extract color and flavor, the juice was gently “bled” off the skins using the traditional saignée method. Fermentation occurred in neutral oak barrels to capture the varietal’s natural acidity and delicate fruit flavors. After four months of stirring fermentation lees in the barrels, the wine was then racked off the lees and blended for bottling.
The 2024 Amparo Rosé is crafted predominantly from Grenache with a little bit of Carignan and Mourvèdre as well. Most of the fruit was sourced from vineyards in Calistoga and Oakville. At the northernmost end of Napa Valley, vines planted in Calistoga’s warm climate consistently yield some of the region’s most refined Grenache. Planted mid-valley in rocky soil which originated from the Rector Creek alluvial fan, Oakville vines produce Grenache grapes with wonderful fruit intensity.

Our 2024 Vintage
The 2024 vintage will be remembered as a more “normal” or textbook year. Heavy winter rains provided much-needed soil moisture, supporting healthy canopy growth and resilient vines capable of enduring Napa Valley’s temperature fluctuations. Harvest began in late August at a moderate pace through September, with rising temperatures accelerating the process into early October. Yields were generally average to slightly above average. This vintage will be celebrated for years to come, with white wines displaying remarkable brightness and depth of flavor, while red wines showcase strong character, deep color, bold tannins, and an appealing phenolic profile.
